What is the FLEET FEET Runners Club?RRCA Club #1888

The FLEET FEET Runners Club (FFRC), formerly known as the St. Charles YMCA Runners Club, provides a forum for St. Louis area runners to socialize and assist running-oriented charitable causes.  Historical beneficiaries include the Disabled Athlete Sports Association and 2000 Feet.  The nonprofit FFRC is sanctioned by the Road Runners Club of America, governed by an elected Board of Directors, advised by a volunteer Committee at Large, and administered by FLEET FEET Sports.  Click here to download a membership form.  Click here to review the bylaws.

Saturday Morning Group Runs

The FLEET FEET Runners Club invites you to join us at our Saturday morning group run.  We start running from Creve Coeur Lake Park's Sailboat Cove at 7:00am sharp.  Most runners start with the 5.5 mile loop.  Some then run it again to hit 11 miles for the day, while some opt to finish with the 4 mile loop.  If you prefer a bit more adventure, consider the roughly 6.6 mile hill course, which leaves the paved trail and heads into the woods and neighborhoods surrounding the park.  There are bathroom facilities at Sailboat Cove.
The Saturday morning runs take place year-round - with two exceptions.  One weekend every June and August, the park is host to powerboat races (www.stlgrandprix.net, www.sldba.org/schedule.htm).  The 2007 events will be held on June 9th and 10th and August 4th & 5th.

Keep in mind that thieves know where runners hang out - and that we'll be away from our cars for a while after we start.  Always lock your valuables in your glove compartment or trunk and take your key with you.

Join us after each run for a bagel and coffee at the Westport Plaza St. Louis Bread Company.  It's a short drive from Sailboat Cove - just turn right out of the parking lot and follow Marine Avenue all the way to Westport Plaza.

Flat Five

The FLEET FEET Runners Club hosts the Flat Five on the first Sunday of August in St. Charles' historic Frontier Park.  Held annually since 1982, the Flat Five is the club's primary fundraiser.  A portion of each entry fee is donated to local charities.  Past beneficiaries include the Disabled Athlete Sports Organization (www.dasasports.org) and the YMCA.  The event consists of a 5 Mile race, a 1 Mile fun run/walk, and a 50 yard Toddler Trot.  All events are open to wheelchair athletes.  A map of the 5 Mile course can be downloaded here.
