FLEET FEET to Host Local Nike+ Human Race 10K Run
To participate in the Nike+ Human Race 10K, all you need is
a Nike+ system (SportKit
or
SportBand) and a desire to make a positive impact on the
world. If you meet those requirements, visit
nikeplus.com, register your product if you haven’t
already done so, and then register (for free) to run the
Human Race 10K. Designate the charity you wish to support
and Nike will make a donation to that charity for each Nike+
mile you record from now until 8/31. You can also pledge to
personally raise additional money for one of the three
charities. On race day, everyone who has registered to run
the Nike+ Human Race 10K is asked to upload their results to
nikeplus.com to become official Human Race finishers.
Participants can then compare their results with over one
million others from around the world! To read more about
this unique event,

Louis Human Race 10K group run, please
email Kristen and let her know so that we can plan
accordingly. We ask that you please respect the spirit of
the event and do not participate if you do not have a Nike+
system.Human Race Apparel Spotlight

No Boundaries Recap
After ten weeks of determination, hard work, and perseverance,
graduates of the No Boundaries Training Program competed in the No
Boundaries 5K on July 19th. The newest members of the running
community were treated to warm summer rain, agreeable temperatures,
and even a delicious a pancake breakfast (courtesy of the FLEET FEET
Runners Club) at the race in Carondelet Park. Nervous chatter before
the start was quickly replaced with huge smiles and the deafening
ringing of cowbells as participants crossed the finish line,
triumphant in their first 5K race.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the
wonderful No Boundaries coaching staff for their dedication,
encouragement, fun, and stories each step of the way. We are
extremely proud of each participant. Thank you all for allowing us
to help you reach your goal, and we look forward to seeing you on
the roads!

Racing Team Update
Andy Koziatek made his triathlon debut with a 1st place
finish in his age group. Dave Leap was among others who also
competed that morning. Congratulations to everyone who
participated!
Summer is well underway-- as are many road races. The annual Firecracker 5K held on the 4th of July saw a big FFRT turn-out, with Amy Marxkors leading the way with the overall win for the women!
Danielle Brunnworth and Andy Beckerman both took home 1st place
honors in their age groups, while Chris Mizel was 3rd in his age
group and Rick Bahr 5th in his. David Bennett, Mike Maraccini, and
Jim Yount also competed in the race.
Scott Kane competed in the Eldon Independence 5K, while David Donald
opted for the Firecracker 3K in Steelville, IL. Those looking for
something even shorter found it at first annual Macklind Mile.
Cheryl Bergin and Chip Self enjoyed the fast downhill course, with
Chip taking 3rd in his age group.
Laura Naumann and Cheryl Bergin both competed in the 2nd annual
Schnuck's Salmon 4 Miler. Laura took 3rd in her age group, while
Cheryl was 1st in hers.
The
following day saw the 2nd annual Joker's Wild Half Marathon (new
location this year) as well as a 5K and a 1/4 marathon distance.
Cheryl Bergin and Joan Bennett each took 4th in their age groups for
the half, while Jim Yount took 3rd in his age group for the 5K. Sean
Zambruski and David Bennett both took 1st in their age groups in the
1/4 marathon race.
Those looking for a break from the pavement found a few trails runs
this month. The 2nd Annual Race to Erase 5K was held at Queeny Park
on a hilly loop. Jim Yount and Andy Koziatek both took part, with
Jim taking 4th in his age group and Andy finishing 1st overall. Judy
Dorpinghaus and Andy Beckerman made the trip down to Washington,
Missouri, for the 2nd Annual Big Driver XC 5K, a challenging 5K
course.
This past Sunday saw the running of another formidable race, the Missouri River 8K. Ryan Lane, David Bennett, Jim Yount, Rhonda Saltzman, Kay McVey, and Katie Benedick all took part in the annual run, which features a nice big climb towards the end of the course.
Great job to all those who raced this past month and keep up the excellent work!
